Newsweek magazine has released its 2022 rankings of hospitals worldwide in 10 specialties, and the neurosurgery service at Weill Cornell Medicine and Columbia University Irving Medical Center at NewYork-Presbyterian was ranked #1. More than 40,000 medical experts were asked to choose the top hospitals in the world for 10 specialties, and the combined neurosurgery service at Weill Cornell Medicine and Columbia University emerged at the very top of the global list.

The Newsweek/Statista survey was conducted over the summer of 2021, when experts worldwide were asked to recommend and rank hospitals in their own area of expertise as well as in an optional secondary area.
