We are proud to offer a clinical research fellowship in spine surgery under the direction of Dr. Roger Härtl, neurological surgery professor and chief of spinal surgery at the Weill Cornell Medicine Brain and Spine Center, with research involving biological treatment approaches and tissue-engineering for degenerative disc disease.
The fellowship, which is a one- or two-year position, offers intensive, full-time, minimally invasive spine surgery research training for candidates who have successfully completed an accredited neurological surgery or orthopedic surgery residency training. Fellows participate in research projects with the Weill Cornell Medicine spine team.
Our spinal team specializes in minimally invasive surgical treatment for a wide range of spinal conditions, including:
- Herniated discs.
- Spinal stenosis.
- Spinal compression fractures.
- Ankylosing spondylitis.
We typically recruit candidates for this fellowship more than one year in advance of the start date.
