Suzan Wollard, PA-C, chief physician assistant for neurological surgery and neurology at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center, was honored with the Making the Impossible Possible Award and inducted into the MIPO Hall of Fame during the organization’s 14th Annual Power of Partnerships, Scholarship & Hall of Fame Gala.
Celebrating Service, Mentorship and Health Equity
Held at Russo’s on the Bay in Howard Beach, the gala celebrated leaders who exemplify service, mentorship and community impact. Wollard was recognized for her decades-long commitment to advancing neurological care, mentoring future medical professionals and championing health equity across New York City and neighboring communities.
Advancing Brain, Spine and Trauma Care at Weill Cornell Medicine
In her role at Weill Cornell Medicine, Wollard oversees multidisciplinary teams and plays a pivotal role in complex brain, spine and trauma care. She also serves as an instructor of physician assistant studies in clinical neurology in the Weill Cornell Medical College Physician Assistant Program, where she chairs the Promotions and Graduation Committee. Her leadership has earned her multiple accolades including the Outstanding Instructor of the Year Award and Neurosurgery Resident Appreciation Awards.
Empowering Future Leaders Through Mentorship
Wollard’s dedication extends beyond the hospital. She partners with local schools and nonprofit organizations to provide career mentorship and support underserved communities. A former Girl Scouts leader and proud parent of two daughters, she continues to inspire young women through confidence-building and leadership development.

MIPO’s Mission: Building Opportunity Through Action
The gala’s theme, “When the World Shouts, We Build,” reflected MIPO’s mission to empower immigrant youth and families through education, mentorship and sustainable development. Founded in 2011, MIPO has awarded over $18,500 in scholarships, donated thousands of backpacks and hygiene kits and supported schools in Haiti through professional development and infrastructure projects.

Wollard joined a distinguished group of honorees including leaders in education, law enforcement, health care and public service. Her induction into the Hall of Fame underscores her enduring legacy of compassion, excellence and transformative leadership.
