- Open to people between the ages of 55 and 90.
- Participants should not have a medical condition that can affect the brain, such as cancer, prior stroke, traumatic brain injury, psychiatric illness requiring medication, etc.
- Individuals on blood thinners or who have claustrophobia will also not be able to participate.

The purpose of this study is to investigate differences in iron in the brains of subjects with and without beta-amyloid deposition. Iron is an essential mineral in your body, and beta-amyloid is a protein associated with Alzheimer’s disease. Studies suggest that excess iron in the brain may be involved in processes that lead to Alzheimer's disease. This study will use MRI scans, blood samples, and fluid samples to analyze the relationship between brain iron and proteins related to Alzheimer's disease. Eligible participants will be compensated up to $550 for completing 3 baseline procedures and up to $1100 for participating in the entire study.
