Dr. Souweidane Awarded Honorary Fellowship Award

Dr. Mark Souweidane, the Vice Chairman of Neurological Surgery and Director of Pediatric Neurosurgery at Weill Cornell Medicine, has been named as a 2021 recipient of the Weill Cornell Medical College Honorary Fellowship Award.

The Honorary Fellowship Award, established in 1970 by the Weill Cornell Medical College Alumni Association Board of Directors, selects two outstanding non-alumni who have “greatly enriched the life of the Medical College, its faculty, and its students.” Dr. Souweidane was nominated by leadership at Weill Cornell Medicine and joins a prestigious group of fellowship awardees including Dr. Bronson Ray, a pioneering neurosurgeon who served as the neurosurgeon-in-charge in the Department of Surgery until 1971.

Dr. Souweidane will be joined by neurologist Dr. Joseph Safadieh for this prestigious honor. Their awards will be given at a future Reunion Weekend, an annual gathering of WCMC alumni, with the date to be determined later.
