Dr. Härtl Named AANS Humanitarian of the Year

At the 2022 AANS meeting in Philadelphia, Dr. Roger Härtl  was named Humanitarian of the Year for his work on global neurosurgery.

In awarding Dr. Härtl this honor, the AANS said:

Newsweek magazine has released its 2022 rankings of hospitals worldwide in 10 specialties, and the neurosurgery service at Weill Cornell Medicine and Columbia University Irving Medical Center at NewYork-Presbyterian was ranked #1. More than 40,000 medical experts were asked to choose the top hospitals in the world for 10 specialties, and the combined neurosurgery service at Weill Cornell Medicine and Columbia University emerged at the very top of the global list.
